RISE coffee box: April 2025 coffee box reveal
At RISE, our mission is simple: to help you discover better coffee whilst giving back directly to coffee farmers.
Every month, we scour the UK and beyond to find independent roasters, unsung coffee heroes, and exceptional beans that deserve a place in your cup. Each box is curated not just to deliver incredible coffee, but to tell a story, spark curiosity, and bring the magic of coffee discovery right to your door.
From experimental micro lots to festival famous blends, no two boxes are ever the same. One month you might be sipping a juicy Ethiopian, the next a bold chocolate Colombian anaerobic or a punchy washed Guatemalan.
Whether you're a coffee nerd, a casual sipper, or someone just trying to upgrade from the sad supermarket stuff, we’ve got you. And this month? It’s a banger.
🌍 ROUTES COFFEE – FROM ROAD TRIPS TO ROASTERS
You might’ve seen Routes Coffee slinging brews at Glastonbury or parked up at your favourite festival. This brand was born from two founders who travelled the world, Australia included, learning, sipping, and living all things coffee before bringing that experience home.
Their Oxford based café, Green Routes, is a must-visit: earthy, local, and full of good vibes and even better brews.
At RISE HQ, Routes is quickly becoming one of our go-to roasters. We’re buzzing to feature them this month.
This month’s feature:
☕ El Rincón, Guatemala
-
Origin: Huehuetenango, Guatemala
-
Roast: Medium
-
Process: Washed
-
Tasting Notes: Orange, caramel, chocolate
Grown on a high-altitude farm at 1,800m, this coffee comes with serious pedigree. El Rincón was founded in 1956 and revitalised by the next generation, who’ve added their own flair with modern farming and processing methods. The result? A beautifully clean, sweet and balanced cup.
🇨🇴 TAMP COFFEE – A CHISWICK GEM (WITH A SERIOUS REPUTATION)
Tamp Coffee was a total accidental find for us, discovered while wandering through Chiswick, West London. Their warm, minimalist café is a neighbourhood favourite, known for its killer flat whites and freshly baked goods.
But they’re not just slinging lattes. Since launching in 2013, they’ve become a serious name in roasting, and we were absolutely floored by this standout Colombian.
☕ El Paraíso 92, Colombia
-
Origin: Finca El Paraíso 92
-
Roast: Medium
-
Process: Experimental
-
Tasting Notes: Guava, mango, berries, passionfruit
Crafted by coffee wizard Wilton Benítez, this one’s got an 88.5 SCA score and bursts with bold tropical fruit. It’s one of the most expressive Colombian coffees we’ve tasted — think juicy, funky, fruity, and fun.
Also, a little flex:
🏆 Colombia Land of Diversity (2019, 2023, 2024)
🏆 Best Cup of Cauca (2023)
🏆 The Golden Bean (2022)
Yup, it’s that good.
🥤 THIS MONTH’S EXTRAS
Because life’s about balance (and surprise), we’ve included two epic extras this month:
-
🍅 Virgin Bloody Mary by Marty’s – Zingy, savoury, and spicy in all the right ways. No booze, just bold flavour.

🚀 What’s Next?
This is what RISE is all about: celebrating incredible roasters, telling their stories, and delivering knockout coffee that makes your mornings better.
Already thinking about what’s in next month’s box? We're keeping that a secret.
Until then — sip, savour, and stay caffeinated – Alice & Ben and team RISE ☕
