Balance Coffee

The Roasters:

Balance Coffee was set up during the 2020 pandemic, after James the Founder spotted an opportunity to supply coffee from the top 5% of farms globally to the homes of coffee lovers across the UK. In the first few months of lockdown James cycled over to our flat in Herne Hill to get us to try some of his coffee - and we've been chatting ever since. This is his bold single origin, but it's worth trying out his best selling 'Stability' blend too.

Coffee name:

Rotate Espresso

The Coffee:

Situated in the mountains of Sierra Madre de Chiapas, sits the El Triunfo biosphere reserve where Jorge Esteve’s farm, Finca Santa Teresa, is based. With other 150 hectares of estate dedicated to conservation; Finca Santa Teresa co-exists as part of the reserve. For years, Jorge Esteve sold his coffee via the commodity market but in recent years has managed to produce smaller lots of specialty coffee. This single origin is bold and roasted slightly darker, ideal for Espresso or Cafetiere drinkers but still enjoyable with other bew methods.

Process:

Washed

Origin:

Mexico

Tasting Notes:

Dark chocolate and cranberry

Why we like it:

A punchy mouthful with a nice juicy sweetness
